WIP Wednesday: Vid Edition
Apr. 21st, 2021 06:21 pmI've been taking some online programming classes, and unfortunately the actual programming projects seem to take up the same creative/problem solving parts of my brain that vidding does. I've hit a bit of a plateau in my final project where I need to do more research before diving back in (creating UIs is not my strong suit), so I might be able to squeeze a vid out in the interim.
I want my next vid to be a Black Sails vid to "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" from VeggieTales, but my brain is doing the dog with a ball meme, but it's No Humor, Only Sadness. I've also wanted to do a Flint/Thomas/Miranda vid to Florence + The Machine's "Big God" ever since the song came out, and then just the other week I was listening to "Love Love Love" by Of Monsters and Men and was struck by the Silver/Flint feels - "Well maybe I'm a crook for stealing your heart away / yeah maybe I'm a crook for not caring for it / yeah maybe I'm a bad bad bad bad person / well baby I know."
Anyways I'm 5 episodes in to my Black Sails rewatch, clipping as I go. It's been over 2 years since I watched it properly, seasons 2 and 3 were my favorites, season 1 has it's pirate workplace dramedy vibes in parts, which I like, but it also has Max's rape subplot, which I fast forward through pretty much every time (but there's only one more episode of that, iirc).
The sailing and battle cinematography are so pretty, I wish I was watching on my tv instead of my laptop, but I wouldn't be clipping if I was. The music is still excellent.
