WIP Wednesday, of a sort
Feb. 23rd, 2022 09:38 pmI love vidding, but clipping is so unbelievably tedious. I'm almost halfway through the Star Wars saga films, I can't wait to be done so I can get to the fun part. Progress has been slow, and it's even slower now that I'm in school and have less time.
I reorganized my file system for clips so that my B5 clipping seems a little less daunting. It's still going to take forever, but there is a plan of action.
On the non-vidding side of things, I've long had a vague desire to create a way to sort Ao3 works by kudos to hit ratio. Sorting by raw kudos can get kind of frustrating, particularly with long-running fandoms. It weights so heavily for older works and megaships, and it's very self-reinforcing. Kudos:hits I feel would have the opposite effect, giving newer high quality fresh works a chance to bubble to the top and then fade back down.
I don't really have the time to figure out how to do that right now, but 'research web scraping' is going on my get-around-to-it-eventually list.
It's only been two weeks but I already feel like I'm behind on school, and that I've had to completely re-teach myself how to write an essay. There's so much reading, and it's leaving me almost no brainspace for reading for pleasure.
