I'm getting back into vidding and it's actually going really well?

I switched to a new editing software, DaVinci resolve. I was previously using OpenShot and it was very annoying, cutting clips took like 15 seconds of hang time for the software to respond, and playback in the editing timeline was choppy, which made timing clips very difficult. Also the audio waveform was tiny and couldn't be zoomed in on, and there was no real integrated audio controls.

I realize it's a free program and you get what you pay for, but when I'm new to a hobby I don't want to dump a whole lot of money into it before I decide whether or not I like it, which creates a kind of chicken and the egg dilemma, do I not like it because the tools I am using are bad? etc etc etc. Anyways, I am using the free version of Resolve and it is going much better. I haven't explored much of the extra features like transitions and audio controls, but I'm getting the hang of basic editing. I already had a bunch of clips selected (and the song I am using is pretty short), so it's mostly just splitting them finer and arranging them, and playing with speed, etc.

I massively overestimated how many clips I could fit per lyric, even when I'm speeding them up. I hope playing with the speed doesn't make the video too choppy or weird to people who know the source material. I'm also not sure I'm adequately conveying what I want to convey, but for some reason vidding cuts through my perfectionism mental blocks in a way writing doesn't. I can tell I'm getting better as a go along but I don't feel the overwhelming urge to redo the entire thing every time I make an improvement.

I'm probably about 2/3rds of the way done with this vid (A B5 vid set to Dessa's 'Poor Atlas').
